Compare the Genuine Honda carbon fiber rear wing/spoiler for the 2017-2021 FK8 and the 2023+ FL5 Civic Type R. Learn which spoiler matches your model and budget.
Quick answer
Choose the FL5 wing (product 2682141) if you own a 2023+ Civic Type R and want a complete, factory replacement spoiler. Choose the FK8 wing (product 2682137) for a 2017-2021 Type R, but note it is only the center section—not a complete wing.
Fitment and model compatibility
The most important factor is your Civic Type R generation. The FL5 wing fits all 2023+ models, including RHD and international variants. The FK8 wing fits all 2017-2021 models but explicitly does not fit the Sport Hatch. Double-check your vehicle year before purchasing.
What you get: complete wing vs. center section
The FL5 wing is a full factory replacement spoiler. The FK8 wing is only the center section—you will need additional parts to complete the assembly. This difference affects both installation complexity and total cost.
Price and value
The FL5 wing is priced at $1,537.65 (catalog comparison $2,295.00), while the FK8 center section is $803.28 (catalog comparison $1,181.29). The FL5 offers a complete solution out of the box, while the FK8 option requires a larger investment to finish the look.
FK8 vs FL5: Key trade-offs
- Completeness: FL5 is a full factory replacement wing; FK8 is only the center section.
- Price: FL5 costs $1,537.65 (savings of $757.35 vs. catalog); FK8 center section is $803.28 (savings of $378.01). The FL5 gives you a complete part for a higher one-time cost. The FK8 requires additional purchases.
- Fitment: FL5 fits all 2023+ Civic Type R variants. FK8 fits 2017-2021 FK8 models but not the Sport Hatch. Verify your exact model year before ordering.
